1. Overview

Scan Reader ("the App") is developed by Influctus ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy explains how we handle information when you use our Android application available on Google Play.

2. Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data from our users.

Specifically:

• Document content: All OCR (text recognition) processing is performed entirely on your device using Google ML Kit. The text extracted from your documents never leaves your device.
• Images: Photos you capture or select are processed locally on your device. They are not uploaded to any server.
• Personal information: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personal information.
• Device information: We do not collect device identifiers, location data, or usage analytics.

3. Advertising

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect certain device information for ad targeting and measurement, including:

• Advertising ID (for personalized ads)
• Device model and OS version
• IP address
• App activity data for ad performance measurement

You can opt out of personalized advertising by resetting your advertising ID in your device settings under Settings > Google > Ads.

4. Permissions

The App requests the following permissions on your device:

• Camera: To capture document images for scanning. This permission is only used when you actively choose to take a photo within the App.
• Photo library (Read access): To import existing images from your gallery for scanning. The App only reads images you explicitly select.
• Internet: Required by the Google AdMob SDK to load advertisements. The App itself does not use the internet for any other purpose.

The App does not request permissions for: location, contacts, microphone, SMS, phone, calendar, or any other sensitive data.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party SDKs:

• Google ML Kit (Text Recognition): Performs OCR entirely on-device. No data is sent to Google servers. ML Kit Terms of Service
• Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob): Displays advertisements. May collect device info as described in Section 3. AdMob Privacy Policy

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take steps to remove such information.

7. Data Retention

Since we do not collect or store any personal data on our servers, there is no data retention concern. All document processing results remain on your device and can be deleted by you at any time by removing the text or images from your device.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
